Hello! I'm Emrul Hasan, currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science at Toronto Metropolitan University in Toronto, Canada. This summer, I am also working as an Applied Machine Learning Intern in Toronto, where I am applying advanced machine learning techniques, such as large language models (LLMs), to mitigate biases in news media articles and ensure the responsible use of AI My Ph.D. research delves into Recommendation, and Natural Language Processing, with a specific focus on Multi-criteria Recommendation Systems. I have over 5 years of experiences in implementing Machine Learning, Deep Learning, NLP to various real-world problems including recommendation systems, Fake News detection, Summarization, Information Retrieval, and Sentiment Analysis. My expertise in Machine Learning/AI technologies includes Python, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn, Pandas, Numpy, SQL, NLTK, SpaCy, Huggingface, SLURM, CUDA, etc. Prior to joining at TMU, I obtained my MS in Physics and Astronomy from the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, MB, Canada.
I also have 5+ years of experience with Teaching Assistance in various undergraduate and graduate courses including database management, programming (e.g., Python, C, and Matlab), data analytics, data mining, natural language processing, and data warehousing. I am very passionate about AI and innovation, and a quick learner.
